Some questions I ask myself (and some I’ve been asked…)

So, who am I?

I’m an Australian writer, mum, marketer and (almost) professional lunch-box maker.

I have two kids and one very rambunctious dog-child.

I’ve lived in different parts of Australia for most of my life, but I’ve now swapped bush walks for bike rides after moving to the Netherlands with my young family.

Where did I grow up?

I grew up in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. I’m the daughter of Indian migrants who gifted me a childhood filled with bush walks, books and biryani!

I consider myself a little bit Aussie and a little bit Indian. Growing up between two cultures was both strange and special. Identity, belonging and family traditions are common themes within my stories.

What do I like to write about?

I’m inspired by everyday childhood moments and the challenges of growing up, from collecting rocks to the first day of school. My stories blend relatable settings with lively and imaginative characters.

What is my favourite dinosaur?

The velociraptor, of course! Fast, clever and probably terrible at sitting still… just like my target audience!
